This 1965-1996 Big Block Chevy V8 396-454 cam is good for bracket racing or jet boat applications with good mid-range torque and HP. Very easy on valvetrain parts. Needs 3800-4000 RPM stall converter, headers, 10.5:1+ compression ratio, and 4.10+ gearing. Rough idle
