Comp Cams 26942-16 Valve Springs, Flat Tappet or Hydraulic Roller .600 lift

With the original 901, 942 and 972, COMP had three springs that all did almost the same job. The 901 could be installed at a shorter IH and the 972 gave a bit more seat load, but all three were very similar. With the 26942, Comp created a spring with the same bind height as the 901 (1.100”) allowing it to run 0.450” lift flat tappet camshaft with only 1.620” installed height at 0.070” to bind. However, it can also run over 0.550” lift at 1.750 and still have 128 lbs seat load. With a 1.440” OD, this spring replaces all the 1.400” to 1.500” single springs that were commonly used for both hydraulic rollers and hydraulic flat tappet camshafts. With 350 lbs/inch rate, it is even suitable for many solid flat tappet race applications.
