The F-series bearing is a TriMetal lead-tin-indium-alumina electroplated overlay applied over Mahle's cast bronze lead substrate for maximum performance and reliability. The added ramp and pad thrust face creates increased oil pressure to the thrust wear surface which increases lubrication and bearing cooling; resulting in an ability to withstand a higher thrust load than conventional flath thrust surfaces.
